We know people want a safe and healthy landscape. Some people want to feed their yard the way Nature feeds the forest and get the same type of great results without adding chemicals or lots of water. These results can be achieved by making Compost Tea and we want to help you make the best tea you can.
When brewing compost tea, the organisms need a food source. Typically, most people add liquid molasses or fish. While these products do encourage growth of good organisms, they do NOT produce the same types of results that adding our Granular Vitamins do!
At the TOFGA (Texas Organic Farmer's Association) Conference in 2004, tea makers who added Granular Vitamins to their brewers or extractors got better results than anyone else!
You will get better results if you add 1 cup of Granular Vitamins per pound of compost to your brewer!
Granular Vitamins are proprietary feeds to create finished biological compost or better compost tea. Feed your compost to increase the beneficial organisms you want! These finished composts contain the species of positive biology that increase plant health and reduce water requirements. Add 1 cup of Granular Vitamins per pound of compost when making compost tea or spread Granular Vitamins across your landscape like a fertilizer application.
Compost Tea is liquid compost. It is ONLY AS GOOD as the compost you use!!! When brewing compost tea, you must not let the Oxygen level drop below 6 parts per million. If the Oxygen level drops below 6 ppm the product will go anaerobic and you should not use it.
Jennifer's Landscape Vitamins Compost Tea contains the beneficial aerobic organisms from the our finished biological compost and can be applied in less time and with less effort than compost.
We look at our tea through the microscope and guarantee the correct organisms for your landscape. If you buy compost tea from someone who does not have a microscope, you have a >50% chance of buying very expensive dirty brown water that will not produce the results we do!
Granular Vitamins turned into liquid in the form the compost tea organisms can eat.
Patented delivery systems for applying Compost Tea through your irrigation or sprinkler system.
Working as landscape contractors, we have learned the best results start with the best products.
The most important part of any landscape is the quality of the soil.
The greater the diversity of species in the soil, the easier it is to control pests and diseases, have water efficient landscapes, and grow beautiful, low maintenance plants!
How does one restore the biological balance by killing everything in the garden with pesticides and herbicides? These products also harm the beneficial organisms that help your plants thrive. If you have a pest or disease and you have a great diversity of competing species in the soil, the pest's predator will come and solve the problem if you.
Adding compost to your soil will increase the diversity of species in the soil.
Adding food sources to compost allows you to select for the organisms you want to grow in the compost.
Vitamins are food sources to select for the organisms a sustainable landscapes needs.
Granular Vitamins feeds compost.
Liquid GV feeds compost tea microbes.
We work with Mother Nature to feed your plants what they want, when they want it.
We have found that it takes approximately two years to change a synthetic chemical system to a sustainable organic one. The first year of organics will involve a few hard costs. However, your landscape will start to look better within the first four months!
By the second year, the landscape will become sustainable. We recommend you stay with the program for three years to get the best results.
Take a look at our before and after pictures at www.landscapehouston.com to get an idea of what you should expect. Our “xeriscape” landscapes receive between 2-4 minutes of water per day and are very low maintenance.
A sustainable landscape is one that needs very little water, flowers year round, and does not require any synthetic chemicals, herbicides, or pesticides. A national forest is an example of a sustainable landscape.
Feeding your yard with Compost, Compost Tea, Liquid GV and Granular Vitamins will produce outstanding results you never knew were possible.
Step One:
Granular Vitamins should be added to your compost or broadcast across the landscape with a spreader in the Spring and Fall. You will want to add a 1" layer of compost and add 10 pounds of Granular Vitamins per cubic yard of compost each time.
Step Two:
Drench your yard with 50 gallons of Compost Tea and Liquid Vitamins per 1000 square feet each Spring and Fall. Drenching should be done before the Spring rains (February) and before hurricane season (August) . Drenching helps the soil retain rain water.
Step Three:
Add a gallon of Compost Tea and Liquid GV each week for 16 weeks. Reduce the amount of water you add to the yard. Your landscape will require approximately 50% less water after the first 16 weeks.
Maintenance:
After Steps 1, 2 and 3, add one gallon of Compost Tea and Liquid GV to your yard each month.
If you have an irrigation system, you will want a Vitamin Tank.
Once a month, fill the Vitamin Tank with your Compost Tea and VitaLiquid GV and run the test pattern on your irrigation system twice. The Vitamin Tank is self cleaning and will continue to fill with water until you add your next order of Compost Tea.
If you do not have an irrigation system, you may use a Gilmour hose end sprayer to spray Compost Tea and Liquid GV on your yard.
If you have plants in pots, pour the Compost Tea and Liquid GV directly on the plants.
You will see pest and disease free results in a surprisingly short time. Smile and enjoy your landscape!
Add Compost, Granular Vitamins and Drench Your Yard Every Spring and Fall then add Compost Tea and Liquid GV for maintenance. DO NOT add any other products to your yard.
Purchase a Vitamin Tank (one time purchase)
A Vitamin Tank is a specifically-designed delivery method for Vitamins and Compost Tea through your irrigation system. There is no easier or faster delivery method to fertilize your yard.
Liquid GV
Biology needs food once they are applied to your landscape. Liquid GV are the foods the biology needs to start reproducing. Liquid GV are applied monthly through the Vitamin Tank on the irrigation system. Jennifer's Landscape Vitamins Liquid GV increases the biological activity in any Compost Tea.
Compost Tea (Rate: 5 gallons of compost tea per acre per month)
A "tea" made from compost containing the proper species of biology, (bacteria, fungi, amoeba, flagellates, ciliates, protozoa, and nematodes) to increase landscape growth, health and color. These live organisms must be applied within 5 days after making the tea.
Jennifer's Landscape Vitamins Compost Tea is made from finished biological compost. Compost Tea is closely related to the brown liquid that flows out from your leaf pile after it rains. Compost Tea is what nature has been feeding the forest for more than 3 million years. Try it and your yard will like it!
We recommend the Soil Food Web, Inc.: www.soilfoodweb.com.
Soil Food Web advisors test every batch of our compost tea. If you are brewing your own tea, for the first 3 months, it is important to test the quality of each compost tea blend under a microscope to ensure that the proper biology is included in the tea blend. Once a stable tea mixture is created, testing should be done once a quarter.
Do NOT buy Compost Tea from a location that does not guarantee their tea. Only buy from companies that have a microscope and know how to use it!!!

Soil testing will accurately measure the nutrient value of the existing and amended soil. Vitamins and Compost Tea are blended to reduce nutrient deficiencies illustrated in the soil test results. We recommend one soil test before starting an organic program and one about 3 months after the first feeding to make sure that what is being fed to the landscape is actually what it wants.
After the first year, soil testing will be required on an as-needed basis.
Please e-mail us your soil test results and we will create a custom blend for your project for the same price as our standard blends.
We recommend the Soil Food Web, Inc.: www.soilfoodweb.com.
Soil biology testing will help to accurately measure the quantity and quality of the biology in the existing and amended soils. Soil biology is what stops erosion, makes plants flower naturally, and makes your garden soil soft, dark, and healthy. Vitamins, Biology, and Compost Tea will be blended to reverse nutrient deficiencies caused by synthetic chemical fertilizer use. We recommend one soil biology test before starting an organic program and one about 3 months after the first feeding to make sure that what is being fed to the landscape is actually what it wants. After the first year, soil biology testing will be on an as-needed basis.
Make Your Own Compost
You can make enough compost to fertilize your entire yard with the leftovers from dinner and the leaves that fall from your trees. If you are making your own compost and compost tea, order a 1/2 gallon of Extract and see how much better your tea performs.
Anaerobic compost tea is an excellent herbicide. This is also called “stinky tea” because of the horrible smell. Anaerobic or bad compost tea will kill just about anything it touches. You can make an anaerobic compost tea by leaving a good tea in the sun for about two days. Anaerobic means that the product does not have enough Oxygen. Good compost tea is aerobic.
It is not a good idea to spray anaerobic compost tea in your landscape bed. You may use anaerobic compost tea in driveway cracks or other paving areas.
If you are willing to be patient for two weeks – Mother Nature will usually take care of every pest infestation on her own for you. You should notice a lot more “tiny critters” in your yard after you start an organic program. This is a good thing!
